Counselling for Kelowna, with Savneet
The Okanagan's population has grown faster than its mental-health services have, and specialist options remain thin.
Savneet works with clients in Kelowna entirely by secure video, so nothing about the fee, the availability or the work changes with where you live. What changes is what getting to an appointment in person would have cost you, and that is the part this removes.
Kelowna has grown quickly, and it has grown in a specific way: retirees, remote workers who left the coast, students at UBC Okanagan, and a large seasonal workforce in agriculture and tourism. Health and social services have not expanded at the same pace, and mental health is where that gap shows most clearly.
The result is that local options exist but fill up, and the specialist end. A particular modality, a particular language, is thin enough that many people do without.
Her focus is anxiety, depression, trauma and attachment, personality disorders. Sessions run in English or Punjabi, including moving between them within one session.

Why a video session suits Kelowna
- Reaches specialisation that is not local, Modality and language options that the Central Okanagan list does not currently include.
- Works around seasonal peaks, Evening appointments by request, and no travel time either side of the session.
- Covers the wider Okanagan, West Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton, and the smaller Interior communities where local coverage thins further.
- Continues through evacuation or travel, Anywhere in BC with a connection, which in a wildfire season is not a hypothetical benefit.
Sessions in English or Punjabi
Savneet works in English and Punjabi, including moving between them inside one session. For a lot of people that is the difference between explaining a feeling and being understood the first time, and it does not require travelling to a bigger city to find it.
What Savneet works with
Anxiety
Cycles of worry and overthinking, and a nervous system learning that it is safe to slow down.
Depression
Helping small steps and small moments feel possible again, without pressure to snap out of it.
Trauma and attachment
Trauma at whatever pace feels right, sometimes before you are ready to look at it at all; and attachment patterns, so the way you connect with others starts to feel like a choice rather than a reflex.
Personality disorders
Building a steadier sense of self without losing what makes you who you are.
Reaching out does not commit you to anything. We can start with a conversation and see if it feels right.
Questions people in Kelowna ask
Do you work with people in Vernon, Penticton, or West Kelowna?
Yes. The practice covers all of British Columbia, so anywhere in the Okanagan works identically, and smaller communities gain the most, since local options are thinnest there.
Can I get counselling about wildfire evacuation or loss?
Yes. Evacuation, property loss, and repeated seasons of alert are legitimate reasons to seek support, and the fact that a whole community experienced it does not make your response to it less real.
Are sessions available in Punjabi?
Yes: in Punjabi, English, or both, without needing to travel to the coast to find it. The Kelowna Punjabi page covers what is and is not available locally, with the census figures behind it.
I work the season. Can sessions stop and start?
Yes, and in the Okanagan that is the normal pattern rather than the exception. Agricultural and hospitality work here runs on a season, and a schedule assuming the same weekday at the same time for six months straight does not survive contact with it. Booking block by block, with gaps, works, and nothing is lost by pausing. Better to plan for that than to book weekly, miss three, and conclude counselling did not suit you.
Is there a free option I should try first?
CMHA Kelowna runs a free virtual counselling programme for adults 25 and over, and it is worth looking at before paying for anything. Interior Health also provides mental-health and substance-use services across the Okanagan. Both are real options and this page is not an argument against using them.
