Counselling for Mission, with Savneet
Counted with the Fraser Valley, though nearly four in ten of its workers spend the working day outside it.
Savneet works with clients in Mission entirely by secure video. What changes is what getting to an appointment in person would have cost you, and that is the part this removes.
- First 30-minute consultation free, by video, with no obligation to book afterwards
- Individual counselling, $140 for 50 minutes
- Savneet does not offer couples counselling, EMDR or family counselling; Camille Granda does.
Paid at booking, with a receipt for your extended health plan; whether your plan reimburses it depends on the plan. Fees and coverage.
Mission sits on the north bank of the Fraser, across the bridge from Abbotsford, and is usually filed as part of Abbotsford’s catchment. Its working life points somewhere else. In the 2021 Census, of residents with a usual place of work, about 36% worked in Mission and about 39% worked outside the Fraser Valley regional district altogether. In Abbotsford, nearly two-thirds work in the city itself.
So somebody in Mission looking for a counsellor is choosing among three places rather than one: home on the north bank, the Valley’s services across the bridge, and a workplace further west. Each is a detour from the other two. A Registered Clinical Counsellor seen by video sits in none of them, which leaves only the question of a private room.
Her focus is anxiety, depression, trauma and attachment, personality disorders. Sessions run in English or Punjabi, including moving between them within one session.

Why a video session suits Mission
- Wherever the day puts you, At home north of the river, a room with a door near work, or a parked car before the drive back. A session needs privacy and a connection, not an address in any particular town.
- No extra crossing, For the nearly one commuter in five already spending an hour or more each way, a counselling trip over the bridge or along the Lougheed is the first thing to be dropped.
- Silverdale to Deroche, on the same terms, Silverdale, Cedar Valley, Hatzic, Hatzic Prairie, Dewdney and Deroche, with no penalty for living further east.
- Bookable around a rotation, Rosters at the institution or on the road change from week to week. Sessions are booked from what the calendar actually has open rather than one standing slot.
Sessions in English or Punjabi
Savneet works in English and Punjabi, including moving between them inside one session. For a lot of people that is the difference between explaining a feeling and being understood the first time, and it does not require travelling to a bigger city to find it.
What Savneet works with
Anxiety
Cycles of worry and overthinking, and a nervous system learning that it is safe to slow down.
Depression
Helping small steps and small moments feel possible again, without pressure to snap out of it.
Trauma and attachment
Trauma at whatever pace feels right, sometimes before you are ready to look at it at all; and attachment patterns, so the way you connect with others starts to feel like a choice rather than a reflex.
Personality disorders
Building a steadier sense of self without losing what makes you who you are.
Savneet may suit you if you are
- Managing everything on the outside, while quietly struggling on the inside
- Carrying trauma or attachment wounds that keep showing up in your relationships
- Stuck in patterns you recognise but cannot seem to shift on your own
- Not sure if what you are feeling has a name yet, and that is okay
- Wanting to work in English, in Punjabi, or moving between the two
Reaching out does not commit you to anything. We can start with a conversation and see if it feels right.
Questions people in Mission ask
I work in Metro Vancouver. Where would my sessions happen?
Wherever you have privacy on the day: at home in Mission, a closed room at work, or a parked car before the drive home. Some people keep sessions for days when they are not commuting at all. Which suits your week is worth settling on the consultation call, before the first session rather than during it.
Which health authority covers Mission?
Fraser Health. Its Mission Mental Health and Substance Use Centre on Hurd Street serves adults 19 and over and accepts self-referrals, and the Fraser Health access line, 1-833-866-6478, helps you find the right service. Seeing a Registered Clinical Counsellor privately needs no referral and runs alongside the public route rather than replacing it.
Do you cover Hatzic, Dewdney and Deroche?
Yes, and on identical terms. The practice is online and covers all of British Columbia, so Silverdale, Cedar Valley, Hatzic Prairie and the communities east along the Lougheed get the same session as anywhere else, with no drive at either end.
I work rotating shifts. Can counselling keep up?
Yes, by booking from what the calendar shows each week rather than holding one fixed slot. Rosters at Mission Institution, in healthcare or in transport rarely repeat, and a plan that expects that from the start holds up better than one built on the same day every week.
Is there something free I should look at first?
Yes. Fraser Health’s Mission centre is the public route, Fraser House Society offers substance use counselling in Mission and from Deroche, 8-1-1 connects to HealthLink BC at any hour, and the low-cost counselling page lists free and reduced-fee options across the province. If one of those fits, use it.
