# Counselling in Tagalog for Richmond

Westpeak Wellness offers counselling in Tagalog or English for Richmond, by secure video with a Registered Clinical Counsellor who is a native Tagalog speaker. Sessions cover anxiety, trauma, grief, family and immigration stress, and can move between the two languages within the hour. The first 15-minute consultation is free.

Local provision is built around Cantonese and Mandarin; Tagalog speakers are looking somewhere else.

Richmond has real counselling capacity, and it is built, correctly, around the city's Chinese-speaking communities. For a Tagalog speaker the local field is much thinner than the size of the city suggests, and people routinely search Vancouver or Surrey instead.

The airport and the port are also large Filipino employers here, on rosters that change. A session you can attend from home between shifts is worth more than one you could theoretically drive to.

Sessions run in Tagalog, in English, or moving between the two as the conversation needs, which is what most bilingual people do without planning to. Nothing about the fee or the availability changes with the language.

The middle column is the point. The choice is not made in advance.

## Who you would be working with

[Camille Granda](https://www.westpeakwellness.com/practitioners/camille-granda), RCC, CCC: Registered Clinical Counsellor. She works with trauma, anxiety and chronic stress, grief, loss and life transitions, and her registration numbers are published in full on her profile so you can [check her registration with BCACC](https://www.westpeakwellness.com/resources/verify-a-counsellor-in-bc) before booking anything.

From Richmond, an individual session with Camille is $140 for 50 minutes, whether it runs in Tagalog or English, and it starts with the free 15-minute consultation. [Fees and extended-health coverage](https://www.westpeakwellness.com/pricing) has the couples and EMDR fees; many plans reimburse a Registered Clinical Counsellor, depending on the plan.

## Questions people in Richmond ask

**Are there Tagalog-speaking counsellors in Richmond?**

There are some, and far fewer than the size of the community would suggest. Most of Richmond's multilingual mental-health provision is oriented to Cantonese and Mandarin. That is a genuine local strength, and it is not the language everybody needs.

**I work rotating shifts at YVR. Can therapy fit around that?**

Yes. Booking in blocks around a roster with gaps between them is normal, and the calendar shows real open times.

**What does a first session involve?**

Fifteen minutes free first, by video, to work out whether it is a fit at all. If it is, the first full session is about your story and what you want to be different, not a form to fill in.
